They (all those pregnancy book authors/ moms who remember being pregnant) aren't kidding about the tiredness. John and I went to King of Prussia mall today, and after having lunch and some shopping (I got a book - he got clothes), I found myself leaning on a clothing rack while John looked at shirts on sale. Those who know John, know that he examines every garment thoroughly. Next thing I know, I feel a tapping on my shoulder asking if I was ready to go. Yes, I fell asleep in JC Penney.
Thank God, I don't have to work right now. I can't quite see myself dancing around the room with a bunch of first graders waving scarves to "Lets Go Fly a Kite". I love my naps, but my mom tends to ALWAYS call me in the middle of my nap. Today, John actually gave me the phone, so I never really got a nap.
It was so hot today, that I didn't get up for my morning walk. My legs were really stiff anyway, and my back was sore (from John and the cats hogging the bed). I can justify this by knowing how much we walked in the mall, and John parked his car in the FARTHEST parking spot available. In his defense, it was under a tree and nicely shaded. The walk from the car to the mall wasn't bad going in, but coming out (after my JCPenney nap) felt like miles.

Now you have the reason to justify a BIGGER bed....that's exactly what we did, although last August we went a bit overboard and got the mother of all king size beds. *lol*
The exhaustion should lighten up a bit once you hit your second trimester. And then slam you like a ton of bricks again in your third. And then of course, the exhaustion you'll suffer after bump gets here makes all the rest pale in comparison. Well, hopefully not...
Of course, every mommy and every baby is different, but the tiredness does tend to go away.
I took naps all the time. And being pregnant like that in the heat of the summer, I was just entering my 2nd tri. was miserable.
Tums helped with the gas. But I never have gotten heartburn with ANY of my pregnancies so I don't know what to suggest for that. I'm not even sure I know what it is.
Like you I didn't develop my sweet tooth till the end of my pregnancy and I had lots of food aversions though. The earliest that I can recall was bologna. I used to like it alot and I recall it started tasting a bit "off" to me and to this day I still can't fathom being near the stuff.
And of course there's the chococlate thing. I still like it if it's dark chocoalte and NOT American.
*big hugs*
Watch the post in the next few days...whole slew of books comin' your way. Gareth even has some for John!

Thanks for the books! I'm not thinking a bigger bed, I thinking of sleeping in a seperate room with about 12 fans blowing on me! I'm too freakin hot at night. Being 90 some degrees outside doesn't help matters.
I look forward to the books! I'm sure John wil like them too, as it was almost 17 years ago that he went through this, and in a totally different (backwards, imho)country!
